Transformed from the remnants of discarded outdoor gear like tents, kitesurfing, and windsurfing sails, these neon synthetic tapestries are reimagined as kaleidoscopic artworks. By repurposing these materials, we challenge the linear consumption model, disrupting the cycle of waste culture while raising the issue of microplastic pollution. The genesis of this project lies in a single, failed camping tent. This discarded item, destined for the landfill, inspired a broader exploration of textile waste and upcycling.

Grimsby Art Gallery Exhibition May 30-July 25 2026

Ripstop Wallpaper transforms the Grimsby Public Art Gallery into a rhythmic patchwork of 14 site-specific, sewn textiles. Built from salvaged high-performance fabrics—once the literal skin between humans and nature—this neon-hued series explores memory, durability, and environmental stewardship. Born from a leaky tent that turned family gear into sponges, the installation directly confronts synthetic waste by transforming outdoor debris into a striking visual spectacle.
